Bridal FAQs

As with any profession, there are people with a wide level of skill, education and experience from the highly experienced to the ‘just completed beauty school.’  My rates are competitive with those makeup artists who reflect my level of skill, knowledge and experience.  I pride myself on my knowledge, professionalism, work ethic and passion to deliver a bridal service that goes above and beyond expectations.   After, this is YOUR big day and you deserve nothing less.

The total cost of the booking is paid over 2 payments. First is the 30% non-refundable deposit to secure your wedding day. The second and final instalment is due 7 days before your wedding day. All payments are made online via bank transfer.

A trial is “the hair and facial equivalent” of trying on your wedding dress before the wedding to ensure it’s absolutely perfect

I strongly recommend all brides have a trial.   The wedding day can be quite hectic and fast paced and now is not the time to be discussing makeup looks, reviewing hair condition and styles, choosing colours etc – all this is worked out in advance at the trial.  And what if you don’t like it?  This is why we have a trial (which is generally a couple of hours).  The preview also includes a skin and hair consultation to ensure that your skin and hair is at its best on the wedding day.

Also, bridal hair and makeup is not just about applying makeup on the bride on her wedding day and pulling together a few curls or an updo.  A great wedding day look starts with great skin which is why all my trials include a skin consultation to improve its appearance in time for the wedding.  This is addition to designing the wedding day look, choosing colours, applying the makeup and making adjustments to ensure you’re 100% happy.

I also go through hair option and thoroughly assess the condition of the hair to recommend options to have it looking wonderful on the wedding day.

I conduct all trials at my home in Hughesdale Victoria

You are welcome to bring up to 2 people to the trial eg bridesmaid, mother etc.

Yes I do.  This ensures that you’re not rushing around on your big day and allows you to get ready in the comfort of your own environment.  Travel costs may be incurred, please let us know your event location when enquiring and we will be sure to include these costs in your quote

Your makeup will be designed for longevity.  It won’t necessarily be heavier, but the products I use are long lasting to ensure your makeup stays put

I use a range of professional long lasting and photo friendly products including Mac, Ben Nye, Makeup Forever, NARS, and Anastasia Beverly Hills.

I highly recommend clip-in hair extensions as it will be easier to style. There are some great ones on eBay and I also recommend Zala Hair Extension or Luxy Hair Extension. Both are good quality. During the bridal trial, we can discuss extensions and I can recommend a shade for you to buy.

No need to worry if you have a large bridal party as I will bring on assistants to ensure everyone is taken care of.

Start time may change and I can definitely accommodate for that as long as start time isn’t before 6.30am. If we don’t have enough time to get ready, I will need to bring an assistant. This will incur an additional cost.

I am not able to offer discounts should any member of your bridal party forego a prearranged service after the booking is confirmed and the booking fee is paid. You are welcome to have someone take their place in these cases

Additional fees will be applied should your service needs change or if additional services are added to this bridal booking.
