Choosing between an updo and leaving your hair down is one of the biggest decisions a bride faces. During your bridal trial, we don’t just guess—we analyze. Together, we’ll map out the perfect look and create a prep plan to ensure your hair is in peak condition for your chosen style.
Here are the essential elements we consider to design your dream look:
The Elements: If you’re planning an outdoor Melbourne wedding, we factor in the weather. We’ll ensure your style can withstand the wind, or design a chic updo to keep you cool and comfortable if it’s a warmer day.brides wonder if they should have an up or down style. At your bridal trial, we discuss how best to style your hair.
We will also discuss things your will need to do to get your hair ready for the style you are wanting.
Face Shape & Profile: We look at your unique features, hairline, and parting to determine the most flattering angles and silhouettes for you.

The key things to consider for your hairstyle:
- Face shape – Is an updo going to be best for your face or profile? We also look at where to part the hair and if your hairline works with certain styles.
- Your veil – Where will you be attaching it and is there hair jewellery or flowers to consider?
- Your wedding dress: Do you have details on your dress that you want to show off such as details on shoulder straps or a detail on the back on the dress. Moving the hairstyle to one side or having your hair pinned up will ensure that details can be seen.
- Is your hair suitable: Is your hair able to hold the style that you want? Some hair types do not hold curl very well and drop quickly.
Some hair types are naturally frizzy and will not stay smooth and some hair is extra heavy and will require layering so that the hair can hold the curl or wave. - Hair length: Is your hair long enough and full enough to be able to create the style you want? When you curl or wave hair, it will bounce up and you loose length. Many of our brides will use clip in hair extensions or hair padding. We can add clip in extensions and hair padding on the day.
- The weather: If it is hot, do you want hair on your neck? Hair is heavy and it can cause brides to feel the heat.
